Engaging high school students in manufacturing careers: Skilled Trades Bootcamp offers hands-on training and networking opportunities

The Treasure Coast Builders Association (TCBA), in collaboration with the Marine Industries Association and the Treasure Coast Manufacturers Association (TCMA), is proud to announce the upcoming Skilled Trades Bootcamp, designed to engage high school students and introduce them to rewarding careers in the manufacturing industry. This immersive program will take place from July 24th to July 28th, 2023, at Project Lift in Palm City, Florida.

With a focus on empowering young individuals to explore the skilled trades, the Skilled Trades Bootcamp aims to provide hands-on training and networking opportunities that can set them on a path towards a successful career. The program is specifically tailored to students aged 17 to 21 who possess a high school diploma or GED.

During the bootcamp, participants will have the chance to delve into various construction tasks and related industries through engaging hands-on projects. They will acquire valuable skills training from industry professionals, gaining firsthand experience and insights into the manufacturing sector. The week will culminate with a career fair, where students will have the opportunity to network with local companies in our area, forging connections that may lead to future employment or apprenticeship opportunities with the goal to inspire the next generation of skilled trades professionals and foster the growth of our local manufacturing industry.

"We believe that introducing young individuals to the world of skilled trades and manufacturing is crucial for their future success," said Maddie Williams, Director at TCBA. "The Skilled Trades Bootcamp provides a unique platform for students to explore different industries, develop practical skills, and make valuable connections within our local community. We are grateful to our sponsors, the Marine Industries Association and the Treasure Coast Manufacturers Association, for their generous support in making this program possible."

Registration for the Skilled Trades Bootcamp is now open, and interested students are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. Limited spots are available, so early registration is recommended.
