Cheney Brothers distribution center welcomed by City of Port St. Lucie
|
|
PORT ST. LUCIE — The Port St. Lucie City Council on June 14 welcomed Cheney Brothers, Inc. to the city, adding to the project approval the broadline food distributor received from the St. Lucie County Commission on June 1.
The family-owned Florida company has chosen Legacy Park at Tradition in Port St. Lucie as the home for its newest state-of-the-art distribution center, a 427,000-square-foot, $55 million facility. The new Cheney Brothers Port St. Lucie location will bring 380 jobs to the area with wages that exceed St. Lucie County’s average by approximately 35%.
“We are very pleased to welcome Cheney Brothers to Port St. Lucie. They are a homegrown, Florida food distribution company that will provide hundreds of good-paying jobs in our community,” said Port St. Lucie Vice Mayor Shannon Martin. “Legacy Park is the perfect location for Cheney Brothers to call home. They will be a great complement to FedEx, along with other future employers.”
Tambone Companies was contracted by the City of Port St. Lucie in 2019 to market and expedite the sale and development of 84 acres of land within Tradition Center for Commerce, with the goal of spearheading economic development in the area.
“This would not have been possible without the team of professionals who helped along the way, including City of Port St. Lucie Mayor Greg Oravec, City Manager Russ Blackburn, CRA Director Wes McCurry, the team at the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County, and Robert Smith from CBRE who represented Cheney Brothers.” said Richard Tambone of the Tambone Companies.

Dana Trabulsy joins Treasure Coast Food Bank as Director of Marketing
|
|
FORT PIERCE — Dana Trabulsy joined Treasure Coast Food Bank as Director of Marketing. Trabulsy is a long-time sales and marketing professional who has worked closely with the Treasure Coast business community for nearly two decades. She also represents St. Lucie County’s District 84 in the state Legislature.
For the past five years, Trabulsy ran her own advertising company, All Things Treasure Coast. She also co-hosts the Treasure Coast Business Summit.
“I am thrilled to be working with an organization that is so vital to our community, and to help raise brand awareness for the programs we offer that help the people we serve,” she said.
Trabulsy noted that, like so many businesses, Treasure Coast Food Bank persisted through numerous challenges brought on by COVID-19 and adjusted its service to meet evolving needs.
“Staggering new data suggests that 1 in 4 people on the Treasure Coast struggle with hunger, and more people are receiving our services than ever before,” Trabulsy said. “Now that kids are out of school and at home, we will be serving our most vulnerable through our Summer Meals program. For some, it’s the only food they’ll receive in a given day.”
Trabulsy and her family have long standing roots in the community, having lived in St. Lucie County for more than three decades. She and her husband Paul have four adult children and four grandchildren.
