SportLife Distribution to expand Fort Pierce headquarters

SportLife Distribution, a nationwide distributor of sports nutrition and health products based in Fort Pierce, plans to expand its operations and headquarters within the city, with the construction of a new 25,000-square-foot facility and the addition of 30 full-time employees. SportLife Distribution will site its new $2.2 million headquarters at 3112 Oleander Ave. CEO Mike Rossman and Wes McCurry, senior vice president of the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County, presented the company’s plans last November to the Fort Pierce City Commission.

Indian River businesses partner with Master’s Academy to equip students for the workforce

Nine outstanding students from Master’s Academy will be presented with Apprenticeship Diplomas this spring after successfully completing intensive, real-world training through the school’s growing Vocational Technology (Vo-Tech) program. These unique apprenticeships, made possible by dedicated partnerships with local businesses such as Dyer Chevrolet and Thompson Remodeling, offer students invaluable hands-on experience and career preparation.

Hope Shop ranks in Florida’s Top 10

Locals know it as a great place to find gently used clothes, shoes, furniture, household items, games and even artwork. Now a national audience knows about House of Hope’s Hope Shop in Stuart. According to the online publication Family Destinations Guide, Hope Shop is the tenth best thrift store in the entire state of Florida. “This Stuart gem,” the Guide states, “has mastered the art of the upscale thrift experience without the upscale prices.”

City of Fort Pierce hosts final public open house for Comprehensive Safety Action Plan

The City of Fort Pierce is taking proactive steps to reduce transportation-related fatalities and injuries with the development of its Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP). This initiative began in September 2024 and continues to evolve with community input.

Carrie Sue Ayvar's More Than Orange Blossoms: Feisty, Fabulous Females of Florida

Carrie Sue Ayvar will join the Florida Remembered Society for a presentation on "More than Orange Blossoms: Feisty, Fabulous Females of Florida:' The program takes place Sat., April 26th at 2 p.m. at the St. Lucie School, 2501North Old Dixie. Hwy., St. Lucie Village. It is a partnership between Florida Humanities and the Florida Remembered Society as part of Florida Humanities' redesigned Florida Talks program.
