Jets set and so are planes, thanks to expansion and improvements at Vero Beach airport

The success of Breeze Airways, which has experienced monumental growth in the past year and a half, has spurred a flurry of activity and new development at Vero Beach Regional Airport. “Last August, they flew 3,923 people enplane, which is the number of people flying out: that’s about at 84% load factor,” said Todd Scher, Vero Beach airport director. “They had about 3,851 deplanes, or arrivals, representing an 82% load factor. And that’s during slow season. Airlines look at 62% to 65% load factors to be profitable. With their unprecedented success, they’ve just added two additional routes and anticipate having 144 departures and arrivals a month, in season.”

SportLife Distribution to expand HQ in Fort Pierce

SportLife Distribution, a nationwide distributor of sports nutrition and health products based in Fort Pierce, plans to expand its operations and headquarters within the city with the construction of a new 25,000-square-foot facility and the addition of 30 fulltime employees.

Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency extends paint program to boost community revitalization efforts

The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA) announced the continuation of its popular Paint Program, a key initiative supporting the revitalization of residential and commercial properties within the FPRA district. This program offers eligible property owners a valuable opportunity to enhance their buildings’ appearance, contributing to the overall beautification and vibrancy of Fort Pierce.

Project LIFT participants lifting others, too

The aftermath of the recent storm brought out the best in young men in Fort Pierce involved in Project LIFT! The participants of the program stepped right up and helped clean up some of the devastation that took place. And while it was a lot of hard work, the experience was very impactful and meaningful to the students of the program created to help at-risk teens and their families improve their lives through mental health counseling, mentoring, and vocational skills training.

The newest Source initiative: A coloring book for the young and old

When it comes to describing what The Source is all about, it’s a pretty complex explanation. That might not have been the case 5, 10 or even 30 years ago when the programs and services were streamlined to serving the needy by offering free meals and bible study from a tiny 600 sq. ft. Christian Ministry. The Source has since grown into a comprehensive assistance center, operating a 5,000 sq. ft. outreach facility open seven days a week, addressing the complex needs of the poor and homeless in Indian River County with an on-going growth in programs and services.
