Project LIFT participants lifting others, too

The aftermath of the recent storm brought out the best in young men in Fort Pierce involved in Project LIFT! The participants of the program stepped right up and helped clean up some of the devastation that took place. And while it was a lot of hard work, the experience was very impactful and meaningful to the students of the program created to help at-risk teens and their families improve their lives through mental health counseling, mentoring, and vocational skills training.

Antonio, a Project LIFT participant said, “It was an unforgettable experience that shows that some may have it worse than you. In a way it makes you want to help and appreciate what you have to be able to show the love in the community and help others.”

Another, Rashawn, put a finer point on the importance of helping others, saying, “Volunteering is at the very core of being a human. No one has made it through life without someone else’s help.”

Kudos to the Fort Pierce team making a valuable impact in the community!
