City of Fort Pierce launches comprehensive safety action plan to improve transportation safety

The City of Fort Pierce is taking proactive steps to reduce transportation-related fatalities and serious injuries with the introduction of its Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP). This initiative will begin this fall with a series of public meetings aimed at educating residents and gathering input to shape the plan.

Melissa A. DePriest named Director of Development

The Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) has named Melissa A. DePriest, MPA, CFRE, as its new Director of Development. DePriest brings nearly two decades of experience managing and directing philanthropic development activities. She comes to VBMA from the Indian River Land Trust, where since 2021, she has served as Director of Philanthropy and Marketing, building, implementing, and sustaining a diverse and robust fundraising program to support the organization’s annual operating budget and capital needs. Before that, she served as Director of the Fielden Institute for Lifelong Learning at the Indian River State College Foundation and as manager of the College’s annual scholarship program.

MusicWorks announces expansion of concerts to multiple Florida cities

MusicWorks, a concert promotion company based in Vero Beach, has announced its expansion along the east coast of Florida from Daytona Beach to Boca Raton. MusicWorks has been putting on concerts for 12 years primarily in Vero Beach formerly under the leadership of Rusty Young, the visionary who unexpectedly passed away earlier this year. The company is now being run by his wife and business partner, Stacey Young, who has watched the process of booking concerts being so professionally handled by her husband who was well respected in the industry.

DEWALT helps Grow the Trades with local grant

DEWALT is awarding nearly $4 million in Grow the Trades grants to 166 organizations in the U.S. and Canada focused on skilling, re-skilling and up-skilling tradespeople Grants and scholarships support trades education in fields including concrete, mechanical, finishing and pipe trades. DEWALT is also encouraging high school seniors planning to enroll at an accredited two-year college, apprentice program or vocational technical school to apply to the 2025 DEWALT Trades Scholarship
