See a list of virtual services at Treasure Coast churches for Holy Week
|
|
Social distancing restrictions may be prohibiting people from attending Holy Week services personally this week, but many Treasure Coast churches are making their services available virtually.
As a public service, Indian River Magazine Inc. has created a new web site, TreasureCoastChurches.com, for Treasure Coast churches to share information about services. For its debut, the site is featuring churches that are holding services online during Holy Week.
The site lists the churches, denominations, times and web links where services can be viewed. Later in the week, the site will share Easter messages from Treasure Coast pastors.

Fort Pierce touts online reporting tool in crisis
|
|
The City of Fort Pierce is urging residents to use its online reporting tool app, SeeClickFix, to report issues that may require city services. City officials believe it may especially be applicable during the COVID-19 crisis.
The City of Fort Pierce launched SeeClickFix in 2018 with the mobile app, “Fort Pierce Works.” The Fort Pierce Works mobile app is available for download on Android or iPhone. Citizens can also send reports to the city’s website.
From their smart phones, citizens can inform city staff of issues or concerns in the community such as potholes, litter, or cracked sidewalks. By uploading pictures, videos, and descriptive information of the problem, SeeClickFix immediately sends the information to the appropriate city department so the job gets handled. Citizens can also view, comment on, and vote to fix problems submitted by their neighbors, and receive notifications on the status of their request.

HOMETOWN HEROES
BY MARYANN KETCHAM
|
|
Jerry Koedyker knows how to rally. Whether she is mobilizing new members for the Fort Pierce Woman's Club, her Mary Kay team of Determined Divas, or donations for charitable distribution, she is motivated and motivating.
As a volunteer extraordinaire, she follows the need, especially during the COVID 19 crisis. Gathering a trunkload of supplies, including pet food, treats, and gloves, she made a special delivery to the Humane Society of Fort Pierce. She delivered a care package to a local senior. The goodie-bag included large print puzzle books, a magnifying glass, and candies. But, she's far from done. Presently, Koedyker is collecting puzzles, crayons, coloring items, and more to donate to the Atria Senior Living Facility in Port St. Lucie.
"I hope that by watching me, others become inspired to give back, too," said Koedyker.
"As a community, I think we can make kindness more contagious than Coronavirus!"
Other volunteer opportunities, such as assisting Sarah's Kitchen, the Treasure Coast Food Bank, and other nonprofits, also helps fuel her momentum.
