Rossway Swan Tierney Barry Hosts 11th Annual Soup Bowl

Rossway Swan hosted their 11th Annual Soup Bowl on December 6th and the event was well attended by members of both the Treasure Coast and Space Coast communities. The event, to benefit the Samaritan Center for Homeless Families, is the Firm’s launch of the holiday season of giving and thankfulness to the communities they serve. The charitable event was very successful and was enjoyed by nearly 200 guests and visitors.

The City of Port St. Lucie seeks feedback, ideas about Southern Grove at upcoming Community Workshop

Southern Grove is one of Florida’s most unique opportunities for large-scale manufacturing, logistics and retail development. It has the largest swath of development-ready vacant land in all South Florida that fronts over four miles of Interstate 95, with interchanges at both Tradition Parkway and Becker Road. The City of Port St. Lucie is working with the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council to develop a master plan for more than 1,100 acres of Southern Grove in Tradition. The City would like to incorporate feedback from residents, business owners and community members during the master plan process.

‘Tis the season to recycle 12 Do’s and Don’ts when recycling for a greener holiday season

Trash cans routinely overflow during the holiday season with boxes, catalogs, and newspapers stuffed with advertisements. The City of Port St. Lucie is challenging residents to recycle and help divert tons of valuable recycling items away from the landfill. On average, the City generates more than 25 percent more trash than normal between Thanksgiving and the New Year. Much of the extra waste generated during the holiday season is easily recycled. This includes cardboard boxes, gift boxes, wrapping paper, cards, junk mail, magazines, and catalogs.

Youth Guidance launches “Shaping Brighter Futures” fundraising campaign

Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy is launching a fund-raising campaign to improve its facilities and expand its capacity. The Indian River County, non-profit organization is dedicated to enriching the lives of underprivileged children, from low-income families through mentoring relationships that inspire trust, self-esteem and positive futures.

Inaugural Hall of Champions Announced by Education Foundation

The St. Lucie Education Foundation celebrated the inaugural induction of the honorees for the Hall of Champions during their Evening for Education Gala. A new class for the Hall of Champions, honoring Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Community Leaders will be added each year. The Distinguished Alumni Award is given to honorees that have graduated from St Lucie Public Schools and support St. Luce County Public Education, contributing to the community and supporting public education. Larry Lee and Kerry Padrick were recognized as the first two inductees into the Hall of Champions.
