Three more deaths from COVID-19 were reported over the last day on the Treasure Coast, where two of the region’s counties have a higher mortality rate than the state and national averages.

The increase in coronavirus cases stayed in the single digits for the third day in a row on the Treasure Coast, according to the Florida Department of Health statistics released this morning.

Although COVID-19 cases continue to decline on the Treasure Coast, an additional eight deaths in the region were reported over the weekend.

Two 91-year-olds in longterm care facilities, one a man in Indian River County and the other a woman in St. Lucie County, are the latest victims of COVID-19.

While the trends aren’t consistent or rapid, statistics of coronavirus cases show a decline of additional daily coronavirus cases since the highs of early April.

While the Treasure Coast continued its slow increase in cases, statistics released today showed record one-day increases statewide in deaths and the third-highest in increase in hospitalizations.

The Treasure Coast today reported an additional 16 cases and one death caused by coronavirus.

Cases of coronavirus on the Treasure Coast continued their slow climb, with an additional dozen cases reported today, off the high of 51 additional cases reported a week ago.

Although the numbers of additional cases continued to decline, two more deaths were reported today on the Treasure Coast because of coronavirus.
