Cleveland Clinic expands Treasure Coast food security support
Cleveland Clinic Florida announced targeted 2026 community investments to support food security initiatives across Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties. The funding is part of Cleveland Clinic’s broader five-year, $50 million enterprise commitment to reduce hunger and improve access to nutritious food in the communities it serves.

A majority of consumers say it is better to buy a home in the current market for the first time since 2023, according to the latest Bank of America Homebuyer Insights Report, conducted in partnership with Bank of America Institute. The survey found 53% of respondents now favor buying over renting or moving in with family, while 47% prefer renting or moving in with family.
Engineers, volunteers restore Piper’s Landing mangrove island
Piper’s Landing Yacht & Country Club has launched a community-led restoration of a mangrove island that protects its deep-water yacht basin on the St. Lucie River. The island, which has experienced decades of erosion, is being rebuilt with long-term shoreline protection and thousands of new mangrove plants. While a marine services company is handling the reconstruction work, residents have taken on a central role by growing and preparing more than 5,000 mangroves for planting.
Florida Humanities has awarded Florida Remembered Society a $10,000 Public Humanities Program Grant to support “Feeding the American Spirit: 250 Years of Florida’s Homegrown History,” a yearlong series of cultural heritage programs and events highlighting Florida’s role in the American story.
