Truist Foundation funds TCCEED workforce training
Truist Foundation has awarded a $100,000 grant to the Treasure Coast Center for Economic and Educational Development to expand workforce training, employer partnerships and coordinated systems that connect local residents with in-demand career opportunities. The grant will support TCCEED’s work to build career pathways to economic mobility, one of Truist Foundation’s two grantmaking priorities. Truist Foundation also focuses on strengthening small businesses.

Costco Wholesale Corp. is hiring for multiple positions at its new distribution depot in Port St. Lucie, seeking applicants with experience in distribution and logistics. Old Havana Café, House of Hope chase Cuban record
Old Havana Cafe and House of Hope will bring the Martin County community together Sept. 12 to build a 400-foot Cuban sandwich trying to set a world record and raise awareness and support for neighbors facing hunger and hardship. The event, “Bite Into History: The Longest Cuban Sandwich Ever Made,” will take place Saturday, Sept. 12, at L. Cpl. Justin Wilson Memorial Park in Palm City. The event begins at 11 a.m., and sandwich building starts at noon.

VBMA’s 2027 International Lecture Series speakers announced
The 45th season of the Vero Beach Museum of Art’s International Lecture Series kicks off on Nov. 30, 2026. This year, the series features a can’t-miss lineup of celebrated scholars, art historians, and authors, who will share their insights on the culture and history behind Japan and Japanese art. It is presented in conjunction with the touring exhibition Hokusai, Hiroshige, Hasui: Japanese Landscapes in Print which makes its U.S. debut at VBMA from Nov.21, 2026, and runs through Feb.7, 2027. The exhibition is organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
