Fantini’s New Haven Style Apizza featured in a new film 

Fantini's New Haven Style Apizza and its owner, Jimmy Fantin, will be featured in the new movie A Slice of America: Charred in the Florida Sun. Directed by Gorman Bechard, known for his acclaimed documentary Pizza A Love Story, and hosted by pizza historian Colin M. Caplan, this film explores the rich history of New Haven style pizza and Fantin's unwavering passion for perfection. The movie will premiere on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre at 59 S.W. Flagler Avenue, Stuart, FL 34994, and is open to the public.

House of Hope opens packing house in Palm City

A fully operational Packing House, hydroponic greenhouses, gardens and an orchard were open for visitors at a ribbon cutting event at House of Hope’s Growing Hope Farm in Palm City in early June. The Packing House has been a major project of the nonprofit. It uses state of the art equipment to clean and package fresh produce grown on the farm and other produce that is gleaned or donated. That produce is then distributed to House of Hope clients at its four Client Choice Food Pantries and is shared with community food pantry partners.

Humane Society of St. Lucie County participating in statewide adoption event

The Humane Society of St Lucie County is proudly joining forces with Petco Love - formerly known as the Petco Foundation, a national non-profit working to lead and inspire change for animals – and animal welfare groups across the state of Florida on a shared mission to find homes for 2,000 dogs and cats in shelters. The Petco Love Florida Mega Adoption Event will take place on June 28th, 29th and 30th in Petco stores and local animal shelters.
