Steady on

Home sales and skyrocketing costs have been a concern for home sellers and home buyers for the past few years, but signs of steadiness are on the horizon. Although prices are still going up in the three counties, there could be some stability ahead. St. Lucie County has shown typical fluctuations in the last couple of years. Single-family home sales fell a bit in 2024, with a slight increase in prices compared to 2023, according to the St. Lucie County Property Appraiser’s office.

Indian River State College awarded $4 Million through Florida Job Growth Grant Fund

Indian River State College will receive $4 million through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund to develop the Institute for Industrial Manufacturing and Production Training, Governor Ron DeSantis announced. The award is part of more than $14.5 million in funding distributed statewide to support infrastructure improvements and workforce training initiatives.

Dyer Difference Award assists Vietnam veterans and Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches

Way back in 1957, a group of Florida Sheriffs gathered to discuss the problem with the young boys in their communities getting into trouble with law enforcement because they didn’t have a whole lot of stability, consistency, and love in their home lives. Collectively, the group decided to invest $5,000 to create a home for boys who needed a supportive family and community to help them grow into lawful and resilient citizens. Nearly seven decades later, the problems are still the same, and the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches are still working to help prevent delinquency and develop responsible, productive citizens through programs that focus on character, integrity, stewardship, and quality.

Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce welcomes Colby Becthold

The Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce welcomes new board member, Colby Becthold. Colby is the founder of Hummingbird Care Services, a respected registered nurse, and serves as both Chairman of the Health & Wellness Committee and Program Chair for Sunrise Rotary. He is deeply involved in local initiatives and a dedicated advocate for the well-being of Vero Beach and its residents.

The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA) announced the relaunch of its Commercial Façade Grant Program, a popular initiative aimed at supporting local businesses and enhancing the visual appeal of commercial properties throughout the FPRA District.

Navy SEALs are inbound to San Diego

The Navy SEAL Museum San Diego, located downtown near the Embarcadero at 1001 Kettner Blvd., will open to the public this fall at 10 a.m. on Oct. 4, 2025. The opening of Navy SEAL Museum San Diego represents an expansion of the organization from Fort Pierce, Florida, into San Diego, California, one of the largest military concentrations in the country—and just across the bay from Naval Special Warfare in Coronado, where all Navy SEALs are created and trained.

Call for artists: New mural project in downtown Fort Pierce

The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA) is excited to announce a Call for Artists for a new mural in downtown Fort Pierce. Local artists are encouraged to submit mural proposals for the back exterior wall of the historic Sunrise Theatre, a cherished landmark in the City of Fort Pierce.
