Bank of America Global Research economists expect 2025 to be a good one, with strong economic growth, higher productivity and reductions in interest rates. The Treasure Coast is no exception. As more companies move into the area or expand their business, the Treasure Coast provides tremendous opportunity for growth. With an ever-evolving landscape, it’s more important than ever for business owners to establish a plan while staying flexible to adapt as needed. Here are a few steps business leaders can take to start the new year strong.

**Pure Prairie League to Love You Tonight at The Emerson Center**

Pure Prairie League (PPL) is an American soft rock band that began their musical journey in 1970 from Waverly in southern Ohio. In 1975 the band scored its biggest hit with the single "Amie", a track that originally appeared on their 1972 album Bustin' Out. Pure Prairie League scored five consecutive Top 40 LPs in the 1970s and added a sixth in the 1980s. They disbanded in 1988 but regrouped in 1998 and continue to perform. In fact, they continue to ride the revival wave with their Dec., 2024 release of Back on Track, the group’s first studio album in nearly two decades, offering the classic and contemporary signature sounds of their soaring harmonies and lilting love songs for which they are so well-known.

City of Fort Pierce Commissioners seek applications for Police Officers Retirement Fund board of trustees

The Fort Pierce City Commission is seeking applications from qualified residents to serve on the Police Officers Retirement Fund Board of Trustees. This important board, which meets quarterly, plays a vital role in overseeing the retirement fund for Fort Pierce Police Officers.

MC Teacher of the Year named

The Education Foundation of Martin County named winners of its Teacher of the Year program. Vanessa Molina-Council of Citrus Grove Elementary School took top honors and was named the 2024-2025 Martin County Teacher of the Year. She will go on to represent Martin County in the state competition to become the Florida Department of Education's Teacher of the Year.

Treasure Coast Hospice Foundation recognizes 2024 Thanks for Giving honorees

The Treasure Coast Hospice Foundation presented its 2024 Thanks for Giving Awards to two honorees during the Jingle and Mingle reception held in December at The Mayes Center in Stuart. Philanthropist Marlene K. Filer and Ken Feiertag/Feiertag Financial Group of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC were honored for their commitment to the Treasure Coast Hospice (TCH) mission and distinguished service to philanthropy through time, talent and treasure.

VB Chamber of Commerce hosts Sunset Saturday Concert on Ocean Dr.

Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce hosts the Jan 11th Sunset Saturday Concert on Ocean Dr. The seasonal Concert on Ocean Dr. at Humiston Park is 5 to 8 p.m. with live music by RipTide.
