Children’s summit focuses on protections for youths

Every year, Guardians for New Futures, a small, grassroots nonprofit organization in St. Lucie County, coordinates and hosts a huge, two-day Child Summit at Indian River State College’s Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex in Fort Pierce. This year’s Summit, slated for Wednesday, Sept. 25, and Thursday, Sept. 26, is free and open to all who are concerned about children.

Floresta Drive and Village Green Nighttime Road Closures

Beginning Sunday, August 25, at 9 p.m., the contractor for the Crosstown Parkway Extension Project will be closing Floresta Drive between Atlantus Avenue and Chaloupe Avenue during nighttime hours for an anticipated two weeks. The nighttime hours will be from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
