FPUAnet Communications increasing internet service

FPUAnet Communications, a division of Fort Pierce Utilities Authority, is expanding its high-speed fiber internet services to the airport industrial park adjacent to Treasure Coast International Airport and Business Park. The new service area covers more than 3,600 acres serving airport area businesses and nearby residents.

“Fiber internet is essential for economic development and job creation in Fort Pierce,” said Jason Mittler, FPUAnet manager. “At FPUAnet, we are committed to working with the City of Fort Pierce building our future and expanding our infrastructure.”

The increase in coverage is in concert with the City of Fort Pierce 2024 Strategic Growth Plan and its SMART City Initiative for further economic growth and development. The fiber optic infrastructure allows SMART City and Smart Grid services to be deployed over the same infrastructure that provides internet to homes and businesses.

FPUAnet’s SMART City broadband initiatives include expanding fiber internet service to more than 1,500 parcels and launching an additional free wi-fi location at Ellis Park. Other free wi-fi locations include: Lincoln Park Community Center, Fort Pierce Intermodal Center, Jaycee Park, Jetty Park and the Manatee Center.
