Christmas at Soroptimist of Stuart

Members of Soroptimist of Stuart present holiday gifts they donated to SafeSpace clients to Dr. Teresa Albizu and Nancy Wong

Soroptimist of Stuart celebrated SafeSpace, Inc. and Christmas on December 14 at Carmela’s Brick Oven Pizza. Guest speaker Dr. Teresa Albizu, CEO of SafeSpace, Inc. shared information about the services the nonprofit provides to the community in its role as the only state certified domestic violence center saving lives 24/7 and preventing domestic violence throughout the Treasure Coast.

Soroptimist members raffled off Christmas ornaments, with monies raised going towards its grant program that supports women who are returning to the work force or school.

They also collected a variety of items for SafeSpace clients, which were presented to Dr. Albizu and Nancy Wong, longtime SafeSpace board member and past president.

The mission of Soroptimist International of Stuart is to enhance the lives of others by promoting friendships, providing community service and applying our skills, talents and resources towards the betterment of women and their families.
