The Centennial Celebration Finale has been scheduled for Saturday, Oct, 26, in Historic Downtown Vero Beach. The events will begin at 9 a.m. at the Parade Reviewing stand at the intersection of 14th Ave and 21st Street, hopping with live music while the crowd awaits the arrival of the Centennial Parade down 14th Avenue from the Vero Beach High School staging area.
Jackie Kendrick has been hired by Treasure Coast Hospice to lead the comprehensive hospice care and grief support service agency in Martin and St. Lucie counties as chief executive officer. She started July 1. Kendrick most recently was executive director of HPH Hospice in Pasco County. HPH is part of the Chapters Health System, which provides end-of-life care to residents in seven counties on the west coast of Florida.
Working in small groups, nearly 50 students in the Indian River State College School of Business performed SWOT analysis, a strategic planning technique. They conducted research and provided business growth strategies for eight local organizations that participated as capstone course case studies. Through their semester-long capstone project, students applied the academic knowledge they have learned over four years in their bachelor’s program to real-world situations. They evaluated social media, researched grants, developed and conducted surveys, and drafted policies and procedures on behalf of their capstone clients.
