VERO BEACH — Two new members have joined the board of the Indian River Healthy Start Coalition. The appointments were announced by Kathie Cain, executive director of the Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition, and Glenn Tremml, President of the board. The new members are Robert Savage and Patricia Pitts, who join current members Cheryl Martinez, Sean Seevers, Brenda Lloyd, Kim McCorrison and Adam Chrzan.

Savage has worked with multiple organizations leading the development and delivery of non-profit healthcare, the most recent as President/CEO for Saint Francis Hospital and Health Centers in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., for more than over a dozen years. Overall, Savage’s 24 years of experience providing strategic, tactical and operating leadership will be essential to the nurturing and growth of Healthy Start’s programs and services. Savage retired here a year ago when his wife accepted the position as president for the VNA of the Treasure Coast.

Pitts has enjoyed a long tenure of employment for two local construction companies for nearly 20 years, handling construction administration and business operations. Pitts is currently construction administrator for Proctor Construction Company of Vero Beach. Pitts’ experience in assessing proposal and presentations, contracts, accounting issues and overall business operations, is well-translated to the overall business needs of Healthy Start.
