The Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA) is a non-profit organization focused on exploring new ways to protect the ocean, starting right here with our very own precious ocean estuary, the Indian River Lagoon. On February 29, ORCA will be presenting a special fundraising event at Triton Submarines in Sebastian, An Explorer's Experience.

Guests will see new state-of-the-art submersibles, never-before-seen footage of weird and wonderful creatures from the deep, the first video ever recorded of a giant squid in US waters and talk with the explorers who experienced these marvels first hand, while drinking glow-in-the-dark cocktails and enjoying locally sourced cuisine.

A silent auction at the event will include a dive in a Triton submersible with Allen Exploration. Guests will have the opportunity to bid for a chance to explore the deep ocean during an underwater excursion on a submersible ride in the Bahamas. This package for four people includes one overnight stay in two VIP cabins and food and drinks on board the M/Y Axis, Allen Exploration’s 183 foot yacht support vessel, and a day (minimum of two dives) of sub diving in the Bahamas in a Triton 3K3 Submersible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGkAuXbJU0g

Tickets to this event are $200 per ticket and can be purchased by calling 772-467-1600 or by emailing events@teamorca.org

About The Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA)

As the nation’s first technology-based marine conservation organization, ORCA’s niche in responding to large-scale deterioration of the marine environment is to: Collect accurate and scientifically defensible data on water quality and its impact on the marine ecosystems; Provide the data to the public and decision makers in an easily understandable format; And engage communities in marine conservation action. By combining innovative technology, applied science, and community outreach, ORCA is leading the way in protection and conservation of our valuable coast, estuaries and oceans — saving these precious habitats for the generations of tomorrow. www.teamorca.org
