Blue Angels to visit Vero Beach

U.S. Navy Blue Angels Number 7—Lieutenant Connor O’Donnell—and Number 8—Lieutenant Commander Brian Vaught—will conduct their winter visit December 15, at the Vero Beach Regional Airport in Indian River County in preparation for the team’s highly anticipated return to the Vero Beach Air Show in May.

According to Lieutenant Commander Vaught, the Events Coordinator for the Blue Angels, the purpose of the visit is to check the airfield and tour the site, ensuring the area around the air show is in order. In addition to inspecting the airport, Lieutenant Commander Vaught and Lieutenant O’Donnell will also visit the town and familiarize themselves with the area.

“The Vero Beach Air Show is always exciting because of the size and crowd engagement. We’re looking forward to hosting the U.S. Navy Blue Angels onsite in December and again in May,” said Vero Beach Airshow Blues Liason – Jeff Devlin

In 2022, over 150,000 spectators watched the air show from the Vero Beach Regional Airport and surrounding area. The show organizers expect a similar turnout for the air show in May. In addition to the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, a full lineup of performers will be featured including the A-10C Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team.
