Beer Mile Fun in Downtown Fort Pierce

Sailfish Beer Mile, the Treasure Coast’s first timed beer mile, comes back to downtown Fort Pierce, on Sunday, November 12, 2023, with two waves of runners and walkers beginning at 4 p.m. including everyone from competitive runners to families to tourists traveling through the area. Nearly 350 runners, walkers and families joined in last year’s celebration, filling the streets of downtown, beginning and ending at Sailfish Brewing Company.

This year’s annual race is again a Sunday late afternoon event, and welcomes groups, gym teams, family teams and friends of all ages, from ages 8-88, as they run twice through our half-mile loop, drinking beer (or root beer) at four different stops. Every finisher receives a custom bottle-opener medal, tee-shirt and four pours of their choice of libation.

This year funds raised will support programs from Treasure Coast Night to Shine and Girls on the Run of the Treasure Coast, thanks to sponsor Sailfish Brewing Company.

Last year the largest team winner was Stay Rooted Running Club and Orange Theory Fitness, for fastest gym team and the event boasted more than 25 other teams, with fun names, like IPA Lot When I Run, Team Chaos, Drunkin’ Grown Ups, Brewery Busters, A Running Joke, Gym & Tonic, Honey Badgers, Don’t Stop BEERlieving, The Vikings and more.

Largest team so far this year, is The Vikings, a group of multi-age runners and walkers from the Sons of Norway Lodge in Vero Beach. Last year’s team picture is attached.

There are also age group awards and overall individual winner awards. Registration is open on RunSignUp at Sailfish Beer Mile 2023. For information, contact  Taylor@sailfishbrewingco.com
