VNA Mobile Health Clinic receives $25,000 grant
The Indian River Community Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to VNA of the Treasure Coast’s Mobile Health Clinic to support continued operations and expand access to health care services throughout the community.
Representatives from the Indian River Community Foundation presented the check to members of the Mobile Health Clinic team, VNA leadership and the VNA & Hospice Foundation.
The funding will help VNA bring essential health care services directly to individuals and families who may face barriers to accessing traditional care settings.
“We are grateful for this generous donation and for our partnership with the Indian River Community Foundation,” said Michael McGee, board chair of the VNA & Hospice Foundation. “The foundation does important work throughout our community and has become a valuable resource for connecting donors with organizations like ours. Its support helps us continue providing essential health care services to those who need them most.”
Staffed by VNA advanced practice registered nurses, the Mobile Health Clinic provides affordable, accessible health care services throughout the community, including primary care visits, health screenings and treatment for common health concerns. Services include blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings, as well as care for patients of all ages.
“Indian River Community Foundation’s financial support of the VNA’s Mobile Health Clinic aligns with our vision of a healthy, prosperous, generous community,” said Jeffrey Pickering, president and CEO of the Indian River Community Foundation. “Keeping this bus on the road means more Indian River County residents can receive routine preventive care and fewer end up in the emergency room unnecessarily. That’s a win-win for everyone.”
For more than 50 years, VNA of the Treasure Coast has provided compassionate care and support to individuals and families throughout the community. Through programs such as the Mobile Health Clinic, VNA continues its mission to improve access to health care and help people live healthier, more independent lives.
