Two Vero Beach Non-Profits Join Forces

The Emerson Center, located at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Vero Beach (UUFVB) and Temple Beth Shalom (TBS) have enjoyed a longtime friendship in Vero Beach that has raised both of their profiles in the community.

As friendly next-door neighbors on 43^rd Avenue, the UUFVB outgrew their “house in the woods” location just as TBS was looking to expand their campus that would enable them to house expanded programs and activities. And so it went. TBS made an offer to buy the property next-door and UUFVB found their ideal location to house all their activities and programs about five minutes away.

Both organizations remained friends over the years. They both serve the Treasure Coast Interfaith Community (formerly known as the Ministerial Association).  From time to time, they have spoken to the congregants at each other’s services. Some interfaith congregants attend services at both locations.

So it is no surprise that it appeared to be a good idea for both non-profit organizations to join forces and resources in a cultural collaboration to produce unique and interesting non-secular programming to the community as fundraisers for both entities.

Thanks to this cultural collaboration between the two non-profits, their first community non-secular program will be Classical Pianist Sergey Belyavsky who is recognized as “one of the best pianists in the world today.” He will grace the Grand Piano on The Emerson Center stage in concert on Saturday evening, January 27, 2024, at 7 p.m. The Emerson Center is located on the campus of the UUFVB at 1590 27th Avenue, on the corner of 16^thStreet in Vero Beach.

“Sergey first appeared in concert here in 2017 to a full house. When he became available to return in January, we thought immediately that this could be a perfect collaboration with Temple Beth Shalom” states Patty Walker, Executive Director of The Emerson Center and a member of the Board of Directors. Sergey has earned high praise from numerous musical critics and reviewers for his “world-famous technical brilliance” and “unique interpretation”… qualities that Vero Beach audiences will soon discover,” Ms. Walker adds.
