Treasure Coast Community Health announces Heather Miranda as interim CEO

The Governing Board of Directors of Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH) has named Dr. Heather Miranda Interim CEO. Previously Dr. Miranda served as the Executive Vice President, overseeing operations for TCCH since 2022.

Her earlier positions included the Director of Clinical Operations and the Interim Health Director for Wake County Health and Human Services in Raleigh, North Carolina. Prior to her work at Wake County, she was employed with Piedmont Health Services, a network of Federally Qualified Health Centers in central North Carolina, as the Director of Health Support and later as a Health Center Director.

Dr. Miranda is currently a co-investigator with the University of Connecticut and Florida Atlantic University related to a pilot study focusing on the use of continuous glucose monitoring in type 1 diabetics. She also acted as a co-investigator on two published research studies leveraging technology (apps) to prevent weight gain and promote weight loss in high-risk populations at the Global Health Institute at Duke University.

Additionally, Dr. Miranda earned her Bachelor of Science from California State University, Long Beach, in nutrition and dietetics and has been a registered dietitian since 2001. After re-locating to North Carolina in 2005, she completed her master’s degree in healthcare administration at the Gilling’s School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. In 2024, she completed her Doctor of Public Health Leadership at the University of Illinois, Chicago.

During her 25+ year career in public health, Dr. Miranda has had the opportunity to sit on and chair multiple boards at a local, state, and national level. She has done extensive legislative advocacy, including testifying in congressional hearings and regularly meeting with legislators to inform and advise about the many public health programs and services which she has worked. Her mission and vision include a strong emphasis on ensuring that everyone in the community has access to healthcare services and the ability to impact the lives of underserved people by showing compassion, dignity, and respect.

Dr. Miranda succeeds Vicki Soulé, who resigned as CEO earlier this month.
