Orozco earns GPC credential

The Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) has awarded Jonathan Orozco, Development Director for The Source, the Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential—one of the field’s highest recognitions for expertise in grantsmanship. Orozco joins an elite group of more than 600 professionals nationwide who have achieved the GPC designation. Accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the credential recognizes individuals who demonstrate advanced knowledge, proven experience, and a strong commitment to ethical standards in the grants profession.

“Jonathan has consistently guided and strengthened our funding efforts with exceptional skill,” said Anthony Zorbaugh, Executive Director of The Source. “We are proud to see his dedication to excellence recognized through this achievement.”

To earn the GPC credential, candidates must meet rigorous requirements in education, professional experience, and community involvement, and pass a comprehensive two-part examination. The certification evaluates competencies including grant writing, project design, funding research, organizational development, grant management, and ethical practice. All credential holders are required to uphold the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) Code of Ethics.

Doug Sweeny, a longtime donor and community leader in Vero Beach, also praised Orozco’s impact. “Jonathan is a dedicated and compassionate professional who consistently demonstrates the highest ethical standards. His leadership has played a key role in advancing The Source’s Dignity Programs, including Dignity Ranch, the Dignity Bus, and Community Works.”
