On The Water Poker Run coming soon

The Fort Pierce Yacht Club Foundation, the charitable arm of the Fort Pierce Yacht Club (FPYC), invites you to participate in the annual charity On the Water Poker Run event, Saturday, April 27 at the Fort Pierce Yacht Club. Participants will enjoy a fun and challenging route, live country/southern rock music by Florida Ridge Band (3 - 6 p.m.) and dine on BBQ meals provided by event sponsor Island Pig & Fish. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Hand, Best Themed/Decorated Boat, and Best Themed/Decorated Dock.

Registered Captains and/or Crew are required to attend the Captain’s Meeting on Thursday, April 25 at 6 p.m. where they will receive their (and their crew’s) participation wristbands, meal wristbands (if purchased), Player Instructions, Rules & Regs, and dock locations with latitudes and longitudes.

The On the Water Poker Run puts power boats (jet skis too) out on the water to have fun, fellowship, and to raise money. Docks are organized along the Indian River Lagoon for distribution of poker chips to players. Registered boats have from 12 noon to 3 p.m. to collect their poker chips from the docks and must return to the Fort Pierce Yacht Club by 4pm to redeem the poker chips for cards to create a poker hand. If you don’t have a boat but want to play, you can register as a "Land Yacht" and come play their hand(s) at the FPYC beginning at 3 p.m. While waiting for scoring and results, players will enjoy food, beverages, and music. Poker hands will be scored using standard poker hand rankings. The winning hand will be awarded the top prize of $500 cash sponsored by Pursuit Boats. The charitable event is rain or shine and is non-refundable.

The Fort Pierce Yacht Club Foundation is a 501(c)(3) and raises money to support the stewardship of the Indian River Lagoon, operate activities and programs which support the understanding and knowledge of boating and water safety, and supports the FPYC community mission. Funds raised from the 2023 On the Water Poker Run were distributed to various local organizations including FAU Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute (expenses for one Indian River State College student participating in summer internship), Treasure Coast Youth Sailing Foundation (youth summer program scholarship), Manatee Center (towards summer camp transportation), and Stella Maris Wesley Eco Camp (youth summer program scholarship), and FPPD Courageous Kids.
