New Martin County Fixed-Route transportation provider selected

Martin County Transit, LLC, a division of Senior Resource Association (SRA), was awarded the contract to operate Martin County’s fixed-route transportation system, Marty. The three-year agreement begins July 1, 2025, and marks a significant milestone in enhancing public transportation services in the region.

Marty serves Martin County residents and visitors with transit options across five routes, four fixed and one express. The fleet of 14 buses connects key regional services, including Palm Tran, Treasure Coast Connector, and Stuart’s Downtown Tram Service. Operating weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Marty ensures mobility and accessibility within Martin County and beyond. The commuter express route, Route 20X, provides crucial connections to Palm Beach County, including stops like the VA Medical Center.

SRA has been established in Martin County since 2018 through Martin Community Coach, demonstrating a strong commitment to serving the community’s door-to-door transit system for transportation-disadvantaged riders. This new contract further solidifies SRA’s role in improving transit coverage and increasing ridership in the area.

Karen Deigl, SRA President and CEO, expressed her enthusiasm for the new contract, “We are excited to work with Martin County to improve public transit coverage and increase ridership. Our goal is to provide a seamless and efficient transportation experience for the residents of Martin County.”

“Ensuring reliable and affordable public transportation for our residents is a key priority,” said Martin County Administrator Don Donaldson. “Senior Resource Association’s demonstrated track record in Indian River County positions them to deliver measured improvements in Martin County. By selecting them as our transit provider, we are taking a significant step toward offering improved mobility and greater connectivity throughout our community.”
