Midas donates vehicle through Project Spark
Midas of Ft. Pierce, 2606 S. US Highway 1, donated a refurbished Nissan Sentra to Niesha Benjamin, a single mother of a toddler and caregiver for her mother, who is battling cancer. The donation was made through Midas Project Spark, a program designed to help individuals and families restore reliable transportation and regain independence.
Benjamin was seriously injured in a 2024 car crash that totaled her vehicle, just months before she learned she was pregnant. Without dependable transportation, she faced obstacles getting to her full-time job and maintaining her entertainment and catering businesses.
During her pregnancy and after the birth of her son, Benjamin relied on rideshares, public transportation, walking and biking to meet daily needs. Her transportation challenges increased when her mother was diagnosed with cancer and Benjamin began helping with travel to doctors’ appointments and hospital visits.
After Midas franchisee Anne Saiz learned of Benjamin’s situation, she and her team worked to prepare the vehicle. Advance Auto donated parts, and the Midas team donated labor to make the Nissan Sentra mechanically sound and reliable for Benjamin and her family.
The refurbished vehicle is expected to provide Benjamin’s family with renewed independence, expanded opportunity, and greater peace of mind as she continues caring for her mother.
