Heathcote Tea in the Gardens ticket sales going fast

Get ready to celebrate Heathcote Botanical Gardens’ 10th Anniversary Tea in the Gardens with us! Ticket sales open to the public on Sunday, January 5th, and spots are limited. We’re already almost 50% sold out from the VIP private offering—don’t wait to secure your seat!

Tea in the Gardens began as a “Thank You” for the gift shop volunteers and was held on the first Sunday in May – the first Sunday of the summer schedule when Heathcote was closed. This year’s celebration marks the 10th Anniversary of Tea in the Gardens as we now know it.

Those first Sunday afternoon teas were at the home of Cris Adams using her vast collection of teacups and teapots as a backdrop for these occasions. In addition to the gift shop volunteers, Cris invited some new friends. In 2015, it became a fundraiser, charging admission to the guests and featuring a silent auction. That was when the determination was made to take the Tea to Heathcote. It had outgrown Cris and her lovely home!

The first two years at Heathcote Tea in the Gardens took place in the Bonsai Pavilion. It then moved to the patio in front of Heathcote House, and in 2023 expanded to include the area beyond the patio and also added a live auction.

Organization is a must for this event. The amazing committee makes it happen, from auction prep, to making sandwiches, and sorting and storing all of the vintage accoutrements that enhance this wonderful event.
