EDC promotes Kadian Knight, welcomes new business manager

Kadian Knight
The Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County (EDC) announced the promotion of Kadian Knight to the position of director of business development, and the addition of Glexi Garcia as the organization’s business manager.
Knight joined the EDC in 2023 as business manager and quickly expanded her role to include assisting with development projects and trade shows. She previously held managerial positions at FirstService Residential, Atlantic Pacific Communities, and in the hotel industry. In her new role, Knight will help manage business attraction and retention activities for the EDC.
“Kadian truly hit the ground running when she joined the EDC in late 2023,” said EDC President Pete Tesch. “Her first challenge, executed flawlessly, was to coordinate the many, many details required for the EDC’s move to our new offices on Gatlin Boulevard. From there she tackled accounting and governance responsibilities and quickly became an indispensable addition to our small team. We look forward to her contributions to our busines retention and attraction efforts.”

Glexi Garcia
Garcia joined the EDC on August 5 as business manager. She has an MBA from Florida Atlantic University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua at León. She has more than 14 years of experience in customer relations, human resources, purchasing and business management, most recently as business operations manager for Clarity Health Solutions in Jupiter.
“I’m very happy that Glexi has joined our team; she comes to us with glowing recommendations and an impressive skill set,” said Tesch.
“I’ve lived here since 2016 and am passionate about my hometown. Working for an organization with a mission to bring jobs and investment to St. Lucie County is truly a fantastic opportunity,” said Garcia.
Both Knight and Garcia reside in Port St. Lucie. Knight has a six-year-old son and a daughter on the way. Garcia has two children, ages 9 and 12.
