Classy Kuts Salon hosts pet supply drive for seniors

In celebration of National Pet Month, Senior Resource Association (SRA) partnered with Danica David of Classy Kuts Dog Salon to host a Pet Meals on Wheels Food and Supply Drive, collecting essential items to support the cherished pets of local seniors.

“As a pet professional, I witness the incredible bond between pets and their owners every day. My goal with this drive was to help ensure that seniors in our community can keep their pets well fed and happy and never have to face the heartbreaking choice between feeding themselves or feeding their pets,” David shared.

The community responded with tremendous compassion and generosity, donating more than 1,300 cans/packs of wet food, over 240 pounds of cat litter, more than 180 pet feeding dishes, and dozens of flea collars, standard pet collars, treats and additional pet items. These contributions will help ensure that Meals on Wheels clients’ pets remain healthy and happy, and by their owners’ sides, providing companionship and comfort that’s often just as vital as the meals themselves.

“Many of our seniors see their pets as family,” said Karen Deigl, SRA President and CEO. “Thanks to the community’s kindness, we can help these beloved companions continue to thrive.”

SRA extends heartfelt thanks to David for spearheading the initiative, along with the following local businesses and organizations that hosted donation boxes:
