City of Fort Pierce Celebrates First Youth Recognition Award Program Honorees

 

The City of Fort Pierce announced the recipients of the 2024 City of Fort Pierce Youth Recognition Awards. These awards celebrate the exceptional contributions of three young individuals to our community through their leadership, athletics, and innovation. The awards were presented during the City Commission meeting on June 10, 2024, beginning at 9 a.m.

The Youth Recognition Award program, established in 2024, honors middle and high school students who are residents of Fort Pierce, have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher and exhibit exemplary character. The program recognizes achievements in academics, community service, humanitarian efforts, innovation, and athletics.

The 2024 honorees include:

Outstanding Visionary Award: Molly Grow

Molly Grow, a seventh grader at the Creative Arts Academy of St. Lucie (CAST), has shown exceptional salesmanship by raising significant funds for the CAST Band through chocolate sales. She is the only student member of the Florida Public Relations Association’s Treasure Coast Chapter, where she raised funds by selling bracelets. Molly also manages social media for an upcycled shirt company and runs her own rubber band bracelet business, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit.

Outstanding Athlete Award: Jaylyn Monds

Jaylyn Monds, a graduating senior at Fort Pierce Westwood Marine and Oceanographic Academy, is a dedicated student-athlete with a 4.7 GPA. Jaylyn has balanced academics, part-time work, and excelling in both baseball and football. He has earned a scholarship to play Division 1 college football at Eastern Michigan University. Jaylyn was a nominee for the Young Floridians Scholarship and was named Westwood’s Male Student Scholar Athlete of the Year by the Treasure Coast Sports Commissioner. He has also mentored younger athletes through a nonprofit organization.

Outstanding Role Model Award: Adrianna Spotts

Adrianna Spotts, a ninth grader at Fort Pierce Westwood Academy, is known for her strategic mindset and future aspirations of becoming a Traveling Nurse Practitioner. Active in 4H, Girl Scouts, FFA, and a horse drill team, Adrianna holds leadership positions and has earned numerous awards. She is a straight-A student taking advanced classes and is recognized for her maturity, willingness to help others, and commitment to her goals.

The City of Fort Pierce is proud of these winners and all the youth in our community for their continuous efforts to make a positive impact.
