Guardians for New Futures Child Summit 2021

Guardians for New Futures will host their 9th Annual Child Summit at Baron Real Estate, located at 8555 S. Commerce Center Drive in Port St. Lucie, on September 29 and 30  from 8:30 am- 4:15 pm.

They will share valuable insight on the topic of child abuse and how to better protect our children.Registration is available to attend in person or via Zoom. In partnership with Sandy Pines, CEUs are available for Psychologists, School Psychologists, Nursing, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC.

Speakers include, “Champions for Children” State Senator Gayle Harrell, and Representative Dana Trabulsy kick-off day one’s topic of “Changing the Child Abuse System in Our Community.”

A Sheriff’s Panel, moderated by Jon Shainman, News Anchor for WPTV, will include St. Lucie Sheriff’s Chief of Staff Garry Wilson, Assistant Special Agent in Charge DEA Sheldon Burkett, Okeechobee Sheriff Noel Stephen sand representatives from the Martin and Indian River Sheriff’s Offices. The discussion will center around issues currently impacting children.

Presenters from all disciplines, including mental health, victims’ services, domestic violence, law enforcement, and neurological psychology, will round out the agenda. Several local nonprofits participating include Hibiscus Children’s Center, Safe Space, Treasure Coast Hospice, and more.
