Enrique Rosario Liz Named National Youth of the Year

Enrique Rosario Liz has been named Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s 2026-27 National Youth of the Year, the highest honor awarded to a Boys & Girls Club member. Rosario Liz was announced as the national winner during a celebration at Cipriani in New York City. The event, emceed by Sara Haines of ABC’s “The View,” recognized six outstanding teens from across the country. Misty Copeland announced Rosario Liz as this year’s honoree.

Rosario Liz’s path began in St. Lucie County, where he was named local Youth of the Year before advancing to become Florida Youth of the Year, Southeast Youth of the Year and National Youth of the Year.

“Enrique has represented St. Lucie County with heart, confidence and purpose every step of the way,” said Will Armstead, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County. “To see a young man who grew up in our Clubs now represent Club kids across the country is an incredibly proud moment for our entire organization and community.”

As National Youth of the Year, Rosario Liz will serve as a teen spokesperson for millions of Club members nationwide. During the year ahead, he will share his story, inspire other young people and represent Boys & Girls Club youth across the country.

Rosario Liz also received a $50,000 college scholarship and a new Toyota Corolla. Youth of the Year presenting sponsor Raymond James contributed an additional $25,000 to a retirement account for Rosario Liz.

Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County credited local partners, donors, volunteers and community supporters for helping support Rosario Liz throughout the Youth of the Year process. The organization recognized Southern Eagle Distributing and Phillip Busch, sponsor of the local Youth of the Year Celebration; Travis Leonard of A&G Concrete Pools, who has served as lead Youth of the Year judge for 10 years; the Community Foundation Martin-St. Lucie; and Amber Woods and the Lexus team for their support.

The organization also thanked the New York Mets, St. Lucie Mets, Amazin’ Mets Foundation, the city of Port St. Lucie, the city of Fort Pierce, St. Lucie County, its board of directors, Youth of the Year Board Chairs Cecilia Jaimes and Shrita Walker, and the judges who supported the program.

Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County said the recognition reflects a broad community commitment to investing in young people and creating opportunities for Club members to succeed.

Rosario Liz’s selection marks a national milestone for Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County and the broader St. Lucie County community.
