Master chemist donates to Master’s Academy
Master’s Academy announced it has received a donation of professional scientific equipment from Ken Williams valued at approximately $100,000. Williams, an analytical chemist with a 52-year career in the polymer, textile and paper industries, donated an extensive collection of laboratory equipment to support middle and high school science instruction.
The donation includes professional-grade Olympus microscopes, specialty lab instruments, chemicals, teaching resources and classroom supplies. Several research-quality microscopes in the collection are valued at approximately $16,000 each.
In addition to providing the equipment, Williams met with Upper School science teacher Michele Flaming to demonstrate microscope use and help ensure students can benefit fully from the tools.
The investment is expected to strengthen the school’s STEM initiatives, expand hands-on learning and give students access to equipment typically found in professional laboratories.
