The Source receives 2026 Best of Benchmark Award

The Source has received the 2026 Best of Benchmark Award in the nonprofit organization category for Vero Beach, recognizing the organization’s community engagement, public feedback and service to people experiencing homelessness and poverty in Indian River County.

The award, powered by Google Reviews, honors organizations that demonstrate excellence in their field while maintaining strong community support and positive public feedback.

“This recognition reflects the support of the community and the impact that is possible when individuals, businesses, churches, volunteers, donors and community partners come together with a shared commitment to helping others move forward with dignity,” said Anthony “Tony” Zorbaugh, executive director of The Source.

For more than 30 years, The Source has worked to address homelessness and poverty through programs focused on dignity, opportunity and community. Its services include Dignity Programs, housing initiatives, wellness services, employment pathways and educational opportunities designed to help individuals and families work toward stability and independence.

Zorbaugh said the award belongs to the organization’s volunteers, donors, community partners, staff and the people it serves. “Most importantly, it belongs to the members and neighbors whose perseverance, growth and success inspire everything we do,” he said.

I Am Ministries, doing business as The Source, is a Christian social outreach ministry serving people who are homeless, in need and families in Indian River County since 1995. Residents seeking assistance may visit The Source’s full-service reSource Center to become members and access programs and services including meals, clothing, counseling, support groups, hygiene amenities, showers, mail and telephone access, housing through the Dignity Bus Mobile Shelters and other nearby housing facilities, and referrals for benefits. The organization’s goal is to help people move from membership to neighborship and ultimately eliminate homelessness in Indian River County.
