Strickland elected to Sports ETA post
Play Treasure Coast Sports Chief Operating Officer Ryan Strickland has been elected secretary/treasurer of Sports ETA, a leading trade association for the sports events and tourism industry. Strickland’s election to the executive leadership team highlights his role in advancing sports tourism at regional and national levels. In his role, he has helped drive strategic growth, expand event recruitment and generate economic impact across Florida’s Treasure Coast, including Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties.
As secretary/treasurer, Strickland will support board governance, financial oversight and long-term planning. Sports ETA represents more than 700 organizations and serves as the voice of the U.S. sports tourism industry, valued at more than $50 billion.
He was elected at the Sports ETA Symposium in Las Vegas, joining Chair Clay Partain of Sports Salt Lake City, Vice Chair and Chair-elect Melissa Thompson of Sports Indiana, and Immediate Past Chair Matt Libber of the Maryland SoccerPlex.
Play Treasure Coast Sports said the appointment raises the region’s national profile and reflects its commitment to industry leadership.
