New chapter for American Icon Brewery
With new ownership and a clear vision for the future, Bev-Point has embarked upon a new chapter for American Icon Brewery, the beloved Vero Beach landmark housed in the historic 1926 diesel power plant.
The diesel plant, originally built in 1926 to power the City of Vero Beach, is being re-imagined by Bev-Point into a gathering place that celebrates both its storied past and the future of experiential hospitality.
“Vero Beach is home for me and my family, and American Icon Brewery is part of its story. Under Bev-Point’s ownership, we’re preserving a landmark that first powered this city nearly a century ago while transforming it into a driver of economic growth. By expanding taproom experiences and hosting community events, we expect American Icon Brewery to boost local tourism, create jobs, and keep more dollars in Indian River County. This is more than a brewery; it’s a catalyst for pride, progress, and prosperity in Vero ” said Chris Sellers, CEO of Bev-Point.”
Bev-Point’s plans include
- Expanded taproom experiences offering seasonal and artisanal flavors, aligning with 2025 beverage trends that emphasize authenticity, storytelling, and shared
- Community events designed to bring residents and visitors together, reinforcing American Icon Brewery as a hub of connection and culture.
- 100-year anniversary celebrations in 2026, highlighting nearly a century of Vero Beach history while showcasing a modern vision for the future.
Industry shifts show that today’s consumers seek more than just a beverage— they crave connection, experience, and authenticity. Bev-Point’s vision for American Icon Brewery reflects these trends, positioning Vero Beach as a must-visit destination on Florida’s East Coast and strengthening the local economy in the process.
“We’re not just serving beer—we’re cultivating a place where history, innovation, and hospitality intersect,” Sellers added. “As we look toward the 100-year anniversary of this iconic building, American Icon Brewery will stand as both a tribute to Vero Beach’s heritage and a destination that inspires future generations.”
