Hidden Faces event sheds light on homelessness

The 2nd Annual “Hidden Faces” event hosted by The Source will be held on Thursday, October 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Heritage Center in historic downtown Vero Beach. This special event will give you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our work. We are currently seeking sponsors and would greatly appreciate your partnership with us. Please check out the attached sponsorship package with three mission partner levels, each offering unique benefits. Your support will make a difference and help change lives.

The Hidden Faces event will provide an opportunity to learn about the incredible work and people we assist daily. We will share compelling images and stories that shed light on the human side of homelessness in our community and the inspiring efforts to help individuals improve their lives. We have many heartwarming success stories and are eager to share them with you and the community. Additionally, you will have the chance to enjoy delicious award-winning food prepared by our Dignity Catering program and served by the talented students of our Dining with Dignity Culinary Training Program.

This event promises to be informative and moving, offering a delightful experience with a few extra surprises! We'd love for you to join us. Together, we have the power to transform limited skills, homelessness, addiction, and incarceration into long-term sustainability. By partnering with us, we can positively impact our community and create a brighter future for those who need it most.

On behalf of our board, staff, and the people we serve, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for your upcoming support.

About The Source:
For more than 29 years, The Source has been helping the community by addressing hunger, poverty, and homelessness in unique and innovative ways. The Source provides various programs to help people grow and develop, such as culinary training, emergency shelter services, job opportunities, dental restoration, mental health services, and more.

One of our notable initiatives is The Source's Dignity Buses, which provide emergency shelter and are the first of their kind in the county. These buses can accommodate 16-20 people and offer features like on-site laundry. They provide quick, flexible support without the long-term commitment of traditional housing projects. Last year, our efforts made a significant impact. We assisted nearly 950 individuals, 641 of whom experienced homelessness for the first time. The Dignity Bus alone provided over 10,000 nights of sleep, resulting in a 1.5-million-dollar return on investment. This fall, we're expanding our reach with a third bus.

We also have the Dining with Dignity program, which provides culinary training for employment in the hospitality industry, and the Dignity Smiles program, which provides free dental care from local dentists. Additionally, we offer the Dignity Jobs program for dignified income and the Dignity Wellness initiative to improve access to mental health services. Dignity Village Hotel is being renovated and provides affordable daily and weekly rentals.

The Source is unwavering in its commitment to empowering and supporting those in need. Our goal is to make a lasting, positive impact on our community. With your support, we can help individuals overcome challenges and achieve long-term success.
