INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – Pies For A Purpose, a new program with plans to foster community spirit and engage the public in supporting family charitable programming will take place this fall. Charities benefiting from Pies For A Purpose include Camp Haven, Epic Missions, Hibiscus Children’s Village, Hope For Families, Our Father’s Table Soup Kitchen, Samaritan Center, The Source, The Buggy Bunch and United Against Poverty.

Indian River County’s best restaurants, bakeries, caterers, and hotels will donate thousands of pies that hundreds of volunteers will sell to family, friends and colleagues. Each pie costs $28. Pies will end up tasty Thanksgiving treats for buyers and provide thousands of Thanksgiving pies to local charitable partners. Donations collected from Pies For A Purpose will also support The Buggy Bunch family programming.

Corporate donors provide financial support and donations of in-kind services. Over $.95 of every pie $1.00 goes directly to Buggy Bunch charitable family programming in Indian River County. Contributions go to moms and families with urgent needs.

A kick-off party will be held Aug. 23 at Grind + Grape. RSVP by Aug. 19.
