ST. LUCIE COUNTY – St. Lucie County’s Tourism Office has recently launched a social media campaign encouraging residents to post photos the county’s clean water as part of a photo contest with prizes supplied by local businesses.

The campaign is the county’s effort to ignite a rally to bring the social media network of county residents’ inspiring and adventurous messages regarding the area’s water recreation opportunities.

Swimming, boating, diving, kayaking, stand-up paddle-boarding, fishing, surfing and other activities are regularly enjoyed on the Indian River Lagoon, the St. Lucie River and the 21 miles of beaches in St. Lucie County.

To participate in the campaign, residents are asked to include the hashtag #LovetheFort or #LovethePort with their post on their social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Each photo posted using either hashtag will be entered into a photo contest to win a staycation package that includes vouchers for overnight stays at accommodations on the water, water activities, restaurants and more. Local businesses are invited to donate prizes.

The contest will continue through the end of August 2016, at which time the top 10 photos will be selected and residents will then get to vote for their favorite by “liking” it on the Visit St Lucie Facebook page.
