FORT PIERCE — The Indian River State College Foundation announces the Pioneer 5k Run/Walk to be held at the IRSC Pruitt Campus in St. Lucie West Saturday, Nov. 10 starting at 7:30 a.m. The Pioneer 5k Run/Walk provides a great opportunity for experienced runners and beginners, and for those who just want to come out and have a good time while supporting IRSC student scholarships.

Official course operations and timing will be conducted by Mike Melton from MCM Timing & Results LLC. All proceeds from the event go to support IRSC student scholarships. Participants will be provided with shirts and awarded finisher awards. Awards will be presented in several categories.

“We are looking forward to the inaugural Pioneer 5k Run/Walk and the opportunity to support scholarships for IRSC students,” shares John Crowe, IRSC Alumni Development Coordinator. He continues, “Events like this not only go a long way to support our students, but also let members of our surrounding communities learn about some of the great things going on at the college. It’s a great way to kickoff everyone’s Veteran’s Day Weekend.”
