FORT PIERCE — Philip Busch, president of Southern Eagle Distributing and the Peter W. Busch Family Foundation, presented a check for $15,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County, in support of the Youth of the Year Program.

The Youth of the Year Program recognizes top achieving youths from each of the local Clubs. One youth is selected during an annual event. That student then goes on to compete against other Youth of the Year winners for top state honors.

“We are extremely pleased to support The Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County,” stated Philip Busch during the presentation. “They do a tremendous job with the young people in our community with amazing results.”

The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing youth with a world class Boys & Girls Club experience, assuring that success is within reach for every young person who walks through our doors, and that every Club member graduates high school with a plan-for-the-future, demonstrating good character and citizenship and living healthy lifestyles. The Club enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

With nineteen locations throughout the county, the Boys & Girls Clubs programs serve a diverse group of kids age 5-18. The 3,000 members come from a variety of backgrounds. Contact the Club by calling (772) 460-9918, visiting www.bgcofslc.org or by liking us at www.facebook.com/bgcofslc.

The Peter W. Busch Family Foundation was formed over 30 years ago in Ft. Pierce. Peter W. Busch believes in supporting initiatives that improve the quality of health, education and family in his community, as well as, the preservation of Florida’s indigenous animals and landscape. Peter’s belief has been that “we all must give back to the very people who help keep us in business and survive.” Since 1984, Peter has owned Southern Eagle Distributing, the local Anheuser-Busch distributor, and has made enormous strides in providing for charitable causes. Aside from all that he has contributed, citizens within our community view Mr. Busch and his family are ultimate givers, not only of monetary/beverage donations, but of their time, hearts and minds.
