FORT PIERCE — Comedian Chris Young will headline the first annual “Out Laugh Hunger” comedy show on Aug. 14 to benefit Treasure Coast Food Bank.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. at the Sunrise Theatre Black Box Venue in historic downtown Fort Pierce.

“We’re so fortunate to have someone with Chris Young’s talents and national following help Treasure Coast Food Bank inaugurate “Out Laugh Hunger,” said Judith Cruz, Treasure Coast Food Bank’s CEO. “His clean sense of humor will surely be a hit with supporters who share our passion for alleviating hunger in our community.”

A sought-after performer at comedy clubs, colleges, casinos, and corporate shows across the country, Chris has appeared at the Gilda’s Laughfest in Michigan, the Laughing Skull Festival, and the Canton Comedy Festival. He was the winner of the TV20 Detroit “That’s Funny” Comedy Contest on My Network and a finalist on the “Clean Guys of Comedy/Unbleepable Contest.” He has also been heard on radio shows around the country, appearing with Mike Armstrong from the Bob & Tom Show, Larry Reeb, Heywood Banks, and Dave Coulier.

Chris credits his family and God for giving him his quick wit and ability to laugh. He ends each show with a quote that sums up the way he views the world: “If you can’t get ahead in life, at least get a little behind.”
